Job-qualifications are an internal, more flexible and context-dependant way of categorizing employee activities (when compared with occupation-categories).

They are structured around two concepts:

  • A reference to a profession, which indicates the type of activity (software engineering, architecture, consulting, etc…).
  • A “rank”, which indicates either the level of expertise or responsibilities in the company, and as such reflects the position of said employees in the company’s hierarchy.

As such, the job-qualification is a key concept in talent management (recruitment, skills management, etc…).
